London’s Regent Street is re-wired as an optical synth. Runway Rythme slices the roadway into monochrome bars while tower façades erupt in cadmium red and teal, like vertical EQ meters. A lone mixing console sits centre-stage, inviting the city itself to be remixed.
The graphic striping drags perspective into infinity, dividing Georgian grandeur into pure pattern. Passing double-deckers, taxis and silhouettes drift across the chromatic runway, vessels between channels of colour and silence.
Part of Foundation Seven, this piece interrogates rhythm as architecture: how does a street sound when rendered as music? By fusing urban space with studio hardware, Runway Rythme refracts the familiar through the lens of sonic theory, revealing the metronome beneath the metropolis.
